Working within the Technical Service Group based in Aberdeen,
the successful applicants will provide technical input into
customer driven service requests, direct laboratory work and be
able to interface directly with clients. This post will be
mainly based around product application but will involve
chemical synthesis of products for oilfield applications. The
role will involve liaison between the application centre in
Aberdeen and the synthesis department in Frankfurt.
The applicant should be a post graduate chemist with at least 3
years experience working in an appropriate discipline, with some
oilfield related experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*B.S. degree in engineering or
physics.
*Course work in NDE methods and
applications.
*Excellent oral and written
communication skills.
*Ability to use word processing and
spreadsheets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Work under the direction of more
senior engineering personnel to develop nondestructive
examination (NDE) techniques and systems to meet power
generation product line objectives.
*Effectively transfer technology to
user organizations.
*Create and/or modify process
specifications to ensure proper application of NDE methods and
systems.
*Train and qualify suppliers and
service organizations to perform NDE per established procedures.
*Maintain close relationships with
all engineering functions to support failure analyses, material
characterizations and component design for inspectability.
DESIRED:
*Advanced degree in engineering or
physics.
*Product knowledge of power
generation equipment.
*Experience within the steel or
superalloy forging or casting industry.
*NDE experience in ultrasonic, eddy
current and radiography.
*Familiarity with analytic modeling
of NDE processes.
*Good understanding of statistical
methods.
*Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
(GE employees only).
*Level III Certification in one or
more NDE methods.
GENERAL:
*Develop and apply nondestructive
test techniques for inspection of large power generation
equipment.
*Create nondestructive inspection
systems for a variety of metallic and non-metallic components.
