Weld Tester Print E-mail
ImageThe Weld Tester is our most versatile instrument. Housed in a substantial metal case with brushed anodised aluminium front panel and green military specification connectors this equipment looks functional and professional. The top row of connectors are exactly the same as provided on a Gill 12 whilst the bottom row are for the additional weld segments. Using the same potentiostat and ZRA as a Gill 12 allows all the tests supplied with the Gill 12 to be supplied with the Weld Tester.

The provision of an additional four ZRAs per channel allows segmented and mixed metal electrodes to be used. Each of these additional ZRAs has the same attributes as the principal ZRA, that is full autoranging and identical frequency response. It is an impressive and unique sight to see a Nyquist plot generated with five curves, one for each segment, as an AC Impedance test continues.

Connection to a Windows PC is via an isolated RS232 connector. The whole instrument is electrically floating allowing for tests on earthed flow rigs to have no unwanted ground loops. The software supplied (written in C++ for maximum reliability between versions of Windows) allows experimental sequences to be easily created, using from 1 to 5 working electrodes per test. All of our DC, IR Compensation and AC tests are included with the instrument, as is the vital Analysis software for analysing the results.

Available from one to twelve channels as a laboratory instrument and now available built into a Field Machine for work away from the laboratory the Weld Tester provides the modern corrosion and electrochemistry scientist with the tool to study real, mixed, systems as they are coupled together in the real world.
